About this SiteIn 1998, on the eve of the corps 20th anniversary, numerous Suncoast alumni gathered to attend the DCI Championships in Orlando, Florida. Over that weekend, Dan Sloan (Snare 87-89), hosted a party for Suncoast alumni at his house in Orlando. During the party, the idea of starting a Suncoast alumni website, complete with pictures, stories, planned reunions, etc., was born. Rich Napolitano (Baritone 87 & 89) offered to help, but unbeknownst to either Dan or Rich, another Suncoast Alumni who hadn't attended the party, Gary Lambert (Guard 87-89), was formulating the same idea on his drive home. After getting back home (still unaware of each other's intentions), both Rich and Gary did separate internet searches on Suncoast Sound, and found precious little about the Corps on line. Thanks to the wonders of the Internet, (and a little help from an article posted to the rec.arts.marching.drumcorps newsgroup) the three of them managed to connect and pool their resources. The emergence and existence of this site marks their collective effort to chronicle Suncoast's years as one of the South's premiere Drum and Bugle Corps. This web site is dedicated to you, about you, Suncoast Alumni, but we need your help to keep it growing. Due to the fact that all three of us marched the same three years, the amount we can contribute to this web site is limited. If you have pictures, stories, or can provide us with information we're missing about your years with Suncoast (especially the early years) please get in contact with one of us! We'll be happy to include your memories on these pages! In the meantime, please take a few moments to enjoy the site... |
